Mirror Mirror Art - Afrocentric Framed Canvas Print Home Decor
Pickup currently not available
Celebrate natural beauty, self-reflection, and cultural pride with Mirror Mirror, an Afrocentric framed canvas print by artist Antionette Simmons Hodges.
Created in 2023 as a mixed-media collage, the piece blends fabrics, acrylics, and found objects with Hodges’ continuous line technique for a symbolic, visually striking design.
The artwork depicts three elongated female figures in bold black silhouettes against a patterned gray-and-white background with decorative borders. Their faces, crafted from embossed metallic gift tags, add unique texture and expression. One figure holds the African continent, symbolizing ancestral roots and the motherland. These layered details invite reflection on identity, heritage, and beauty.
Rich colors, intricate patterns, and swirling motifs bring rhythm and depth, while the title Mirror Mirror emphasizes themes of self-love and self-reflection. More than decor, this piece serves as a daily affirmation of Black excellence, cultural strength, and natural beauty—perfect for bedrooms, living rooms, dressing areas, or offices.

Canvas & Materials
Our framed stretched canvas prints combine fine art quality with a refined, gallery-style presentation. Each piece is printed on thick, archival-grade poly-cotton canvas that is pH-neutral and acid-free, preserving the artwork’s vibrancy and preventing yellowing over time. Using giclée printing technology, the colors are rich, true-to-life, and protected with a durable, semi-gloss coating to resist scratches, smudges, and fingerprints.
The canvas is expertly stretched over solid, warp-resistant wood stretcher bars and framed in a sleek, professional-grade frame. A black backboard and wire hanger are installed on the reverse, making the piece ready to hang immediately upon arrival.
Framing
This premium fine art option features a thick, archival-grad polycotton blend canvas, carefully hand-stretched over 0.75" deep wooden bars for lasting durability and museum-quality presentation. The artwork is then mounted in a modern float frame, leaving a subtle ¼" gap between the canvas and the frame’s edge to create a sleek, “floating” effect.
Each piece is professionally finished with a black backing, protective wall bumpers, and a wire hanger—arriving ready to hang.
Frame Color Options: Black, White, Gold, or Silver
Canvas Depth: 0.75"
Style: Modern float frame with a clean, gallery-ready finish
Care Instructions
To ensure the long-lasting quality of your framed stretched canvas print:
- Display indoors, away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity, air pollutants (like smoke), or extreme temperatures. These conditions may cause fading, warping, or mold over time.
- Dust regularly using a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using water, cleaning sprays, or abrasive materials, as they may damage the printed surface.
- Lighting may affect appearance: Colors may look different under various lighting conditions. Our prints are calibrated for D50 (5000K daylight) viewing.
- For minor imperfections, small nicks can often be touched up with waterproof felt-tip markers or artist-grade touch-up paint.
By following these guidelines, your canvas print will retain its beauty and vibrancy for years to come.
