Antionette Simmons Hodges is a Black mixed-media artist whose practice spans African heritage, diaspora identity, and the quiet power of representation. About the Print:
The original is a mixed media work combining water-based oils for the figure's face, vibrant acrylic for the yellow-gold garment, and actual fabric scraps collaged into the background to create its signature shimmering purple depth. The piece was professionally scanned and printed onto this tote using dye sublimation—embedding the full tonal range of indigo, purple, and gold directly into the polyester fibers. Colors are permanent and vivid. No cracking, no peeling, no fading. The tactile collage qualities of the original are not physically present on the bag, but the visual depth translates beautifully.
