Art Is Power Vol. I — Maasai Warrior Wearable Art Tee
Original artwork by Antionette Simmons Hodges. Designed for collectors, art lovers, and those who believe art belongs beyond the gallery wall.
About the Artwork
The Maasai are one of the most recognizable and resilient peoples on earth — a semi-nomadic community spanning Kenya and Tanzania who maintained their cultural identity, land rights, and warrior traditions through centuries of colonial pressure. Their warriors, the Il-murran, are trained in courage, endurance, and the protection of community. The Maasai do not dress for others. They dress for themselves, in ochre and beadwork that carries meaning with every color.
Antionette Simmons Hodges painted this warrior in a bold circular medallion composition — rich teal and gold tones, a portrait that commands attention the way the subject demands it. Cultural pride worn with intention. East African heritage on heavyweight cotton.
Printed in rich matte DTG ink on heavyweight 6 oz Airlume combed ring-spun cotton. The print feels embedded, not applied. The garment feels premium because it is.
Available in: Black · Forest Green

About This Design
Maasai Warrior Tee The Maasai people of East Africa have carried their warrior tradition for centuries — a culture built on courage, community, and an unshakeable relationship with the land. Antionette Simmons Hodges rendered this portrait in the style of a gold medallion, a circular frame worthy of the subject inside: a Maasai warrior whose gaze holds history. The teal and gold palette feels both ancient and immediate. This is Pan-African pride worn quietly — the kind of piece that starts conversations, that says I know where I come from without needing to explain itself.

DTG-printed garments need a little extra care to keep the artwork looking sharp for years.
- Wash inside out — always
- Cold water only — warm and hot water fade DTG prints
- Gentle or delicate cycle
- No bleach or fabric softener — both degrade the ink
- Tumble dry low, or hang to dry for best results
- Do not iron directly on the print
- Do not dry clean
Treated well, your print will hold its depth and detail wash after wash.
